This brass faucet assembly has the inner water channel coated under a vacuum with Dykor® protective coating to prevent lead from leaching out into the water.  Dykor® conforms to FDA requirements

Suave^TM "soft touch" decorative coatings adds interesting aesthetic and tactile dimensions to household products. Providing a matte, rubber-like surface to a product, it creates a firm comfortable grip that prevents slipping. The soft to the touch matte finish comes in an unlimited range of colors that can be matched to existing colors. There is good resistance to abrasion and wear. It is non-reflective and dishwasher/U.V. safe.  Suave ^TM can be applied to phenolics, ABS, Melamine, methacrylates, PVC, iron, aluminum, nylon and stainless steel. Products must be oil and dust-free before application. Suave ^TM cures at low temperatures ( 30 minutes at 80 º C/176 º F) . The coating rejuvenates and brings to life old products with exciting colors.
